Purse seining is used to capture Saddled Seabream. It is mainly caught commercially however it can also be used as bait for larger game fish.
In Malta it is commonly caught by trammel nets.
It reproduces in Spring between the months of April and June. The fishing season for the Saddled Seabream is between the months of July and November.
It is characteristically recognized by the black spot just before the tail. It is an omnivorous fish and mainly feeds on small invertebrates.
